IVR Definition
Database Systems Corp. (DSC) is a leading provider of computer / phone system technology including IVR systems. EasyIVR is the service division of DSC.
What Is IVR? IVR (Interactive Voice Response) is a technology that automates communication between computer phone systems and telephone callers. Businesses and public organizations are increasingly turning to automatic answering services to provide higher volumes of call traffic handling while reducing the cost of service and inquiry.
Historically, these phone solutions have used pre-recorded voice prompts and menus to present information and options to callers, and touch-tone telephone keypad entry to gather responses. Modern IVR solutions also enable input and responses to be gathered via spoken words with voice recognition.
interactive voice response systems enable users to retrieve information including bank balances, flight schedules, product details, order status, movie show times, and more from any telephone.
interactive voice response applications are increasingly used with outbound calls to deliver or gather information for appointments, past due bills, and other time critical events and activities.
"OPEN" IVR Technology
DSC provides state-of-the-art IVR technology for the development of call processing applications. Using our comprehensive library of IVR software routines, phone applications can be developed quickly and economically.
No matter how complex the application, our experienced phone engineers can provide your organization with a simple or complex phone solution in a fraction of the time required by other more traditional phone vendors.
Our IVR systems operate in a client/server environment and the script that controls our IVR systems can be developed on your local phone system, on a system residing on the same network as our phone system, or even on a system that resides on the Internet. This interactive voice response program can run on the same server that contains your data and application programs.
Phone applications now have complete access to all the information available to your existing database programs.
IVR systems can perform functions such as dealer lookup, account update, or information access, and simply pass the results back to the interactive voice response system to be played to the caller.
Interactive voice response applications can be developed using traditional programming languages such as Visual Basic, C, C++, or even COBOL through a rich set of IVR software API’s. We also provide you with our own IVR software scripting language called EZTRAN (which runs on Windows, Unix, or Linux) for the development of IVR applications.
